The goal of the Express Entry system is to allow CIC to expedite application processing time in an effort to secure the best immigration candidates.
Federal skilled workers program

- your skills in English and/or French (Canada’s two official languages),
- your education,
- your work experience,
- your age,
- whether you have a valid job offer, and
- your adaptability (how well you are likely to settle in Canada).

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for people who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.

This program seeks to secure candidates with the specific skilled working experience obtained in Canada with proper authorization.
To apply for this program, applicants must also be planning to live outside Quebec.

Start-up visa
To be eligible to receive a Start-up Visa, you must:
- Prove your business is supported by a designated organization
- Show that your business meets the ownership requirements
- Meet the language requirements
- Bring sufficient settlement funds
Immigrant Investor
For the Federal Program there is the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program. If you are an international investor with the skills and abilities needed to contribute to our economy and integrate into Canadian society, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residence under the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program.

Self-Employed
To be eligible as a self-employed person, you must:
- have relevant experience, and intend and be able to be self-employed in Canada,
- meet the selection criteria for self-employed people, and
- meet medical, security and other conditions.

Did you know that under the family class sponsorship program, if you are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada and at least 18 years old, you may be able to sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada. Canada recognizes the importance of family renunciation; as such it is very generous in its family sponsorship program.
